A stunning woodland wildflower that readily self-seeds, this one lights up the shade garden with it's delicate butter yellow sweetness. This is the only Aquilegia species native to the east in the US, so a special plant to place in the shade garden or in filtered sunlight where it should thrive and get visits from hummingbirds. Deer resistant, likes average to moist soil.

From the website wildflower.org The genus name "Aquilegia" comes from the Latin "aquila" which means "eagle" and refers to the spurred petals that many believe resemble an eagle's talons.
