A fairly easy tree to grow in our area. Prefers rich loamy soil, well drained, full sun to part shade. A gorgeous late winter bloomer. Blooms are subject to frost damage but well worth the brief show, especially when they make it through unscathed. Needs to be watered in drought conditions. Mulch helps the growth and health of this tree. Begins flowering early in life, at 2-3 years of age.
