Bleeding Hearts are one of the most precious plants as their flowers are essentially dangling hearts that dance on an arching stem. Such a sweet plant that sings love and grace. The plant has beautiful soft-green foliage that looks a little like peony foliage but more delicate. Flowers in early spring and makes for a beautiful cut flower. It's most at home in a woodland setting, likes loose rich soil and even moisture (good idea to add some compost at planting time to help retain moisture for this one). Does not like to sit in water or clay soils. May go dormant in the hotter months, so good to plant near other plants to fill that gap. Hardy once it establishes itself and can be divided every few years.
